Rosalind Elliott (1933-2020)

We are saddened to report the death on 19 December 2020 of one of our long-serving supporters, the actor Rosalind Elliott. She was one of the local residents who enthusiastically raised money to pay for the millennium statue of Hogarth in Chiswick High Road before our charity existed. She joined our executive committee in 2010, becoming a trustee in 2013. She was serving her second term of office in this role at the time of her death. We shall miss her contrib-utions to our meetings – she was funny, thoughtful and sometimes quite forthright.

Rosalind was one of the performers at our special event at St Nicholas Church to mark the 250th anniversary of Hogarth’s death in 2014. She was also the main fund-raiser for the Trust’s project to reinstate urns on the gate piers at Hogarth’s House.

While a grant paid for the restoration of the originals Rosalind persuaded theatrical friends and local residents to fund the creation of handsome replicas to fix to the gate piers.

At events she was a wonderful hostess, ensuring glasses were topped up and guests were enjoying themselves. We shall miss her enormously.
