\"midnight<\/a>As part of our commemoration of the 250th anniversary of Hogarth’s death, the Trust has invited Dr Steven Parissien once again to present his famous Lecture on The History of Gin<\/strong> with a tasting of different samples.<\/p>\n

This event took place at 7pm on 31 July 2014 at The George & Devonshire on Hogarth Roundabout, London W4, a pub which existed when Hogarth lived in Chiswick. We are grateful to Steven Parissien provided a lively account of gin drinking and a tasting which encouraged the audience to identify the “botanicals” which flavour the gin and choose their favourite gins. And thanks must go to the George & Devonshire staff who cheerfully coped with this odd event and provided a tasty beef supper for a large crowd after the talk.<\/p>\n
