It is open every day except Monday 12 noon to 5pm.<\/p>\n<p>June Ford-Crush, one of the three wonderful volunteer gardeners, has provided these notes for the end of May\/start of June. If you would like to join the volunteer team the simplest way to find out about the work is to turn up on a Wednesday afternoon and have a chat with the volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June writes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pet memorials<\/strong> \u2013 we have re-established the foxgloves \u2013 planted from seed last year, so we hope they will now self seed<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nut walk<\/strong> \u2013 the hazel is doing well, and we now have plants on both sides using some donated cuttings.\u00a0Stephen King (from the house staff) has helped me and done a wonderful job of shaping it and we are confident it will meet over the top of the arch this year.\u00a0I have made a little fence from hazel cuttings \u2013 hoping it would be a talking point.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The hops<\/strong> are doing well again \u2013 and will certainly reach the top<\/p>\n<p>There are <strong>peaches<\/strong> growing in the greenhouse \u2013 we pollinate by hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The colour beds along the A4 wall:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Red bed<\/strong>:\u00a0We have planted red weigela and we are trying \u2018red midget\u2019 \u2013 there are cherries on the wall<br \/>\n<strong>Orange bed<\/strong>: marigolds in flower and we might get a few apricots again<br \/>\n<strong>Yellow bed:<\/strong>\u00a0Verbascum re-established and Sisyrinchum doing well.\u00a0 We have introduced California poppy and we usually get a good crop of plums<br \/>\n<strong>Blue bed<\/strong>: this is our most successful bed with nigella, nepeta (loved by bees), eryngium and echinops and conference pears on the wall.<br \/>\n<strong>Purple bed<\/strong>: verbena bonarenis and purple lavender.\u00a0 We get a good crop of greengages<br \/>\n<strong>Pink bed<\/strong> :roses and pink lavender and apples on the wall.<br \/>\n<strong>Mulberry tree<\/strong> looking strong as usual and the mulberry cutting in a pot near the Weston Studio is doing well<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hogarth&#8217;s House garden is looking wonderful at the moment &#8211; do take the chance to visit!
