Forthcoming events
The Trust always lays flowers at Hogarth’s statue to mark his birthday on 10 November. We usually put on a talk or other event on or near to that date – in 2012 our Chairman provided the Bedford Park Society’s annual Betjeman lecture on 8 November, in 2014 we commemorated the 250th anniversary of Hogarth’s death with a performance of music and readings at St Nicholas’ Church in Chiswick.
From 2018 the Trust worked in partnership with Hounslow Council’s Hogarth’s House charity on the Mulberry Garden Project. This was supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Garfield Weston Foundation and many other smaller charities. The garden has been laid out as a place that provides an elegant setting for the House, celebrates past occupants, including the Hogarths’ pets, and tells some stories about the p;lace. The Weston Studio, a beautiful glass-fronted pavilion with a timber interior and excellent equipment, has been added to the south side of the House to house learning sessions, events and functions.
