A richly illustrated 48-page book about Hogarth’s House and its past residents has been published by Scala Books with Hounslow Community Services.
Val Bott, the Trust’s chairman, has compiled the book, using the research she undertook for the new displays at the House. Val will be talking about the book on 15 September in a local history session, as part of the 2012 Chiswick Book Festival.
The book is on sale at the House at £6.95 and will also be available at Waterstone’s festival bookstall at St Michael & All Angels, Bedford Park.
Fullers will be providing beer tastings at Hogarth’s House on the evenings of 6 Sept-
ember and 4 October 2012.
Reserve your ticket in person at the House or send an SAE and a cheque for £10 per person made out to Hounslow Community Services to Hogarth’s House, Hogarth Lane, Great West Road, London W4 2QN.
Val Bott will lead a guided walk lasting about an hour to explore what might be called “Chiswick’s brewery quarter” on Chiswick Mall, on the evening of 13 September from 7pm and the afternoon of 11 October from 4 pm. Meet at Hogarth’s House if you would like to join the walk – the cost is £5, payable on the day, no need to book.
All proceeds from these events go to support the House and its work.
