The Pug Returns!

Sir Peter Blake after the pug unveiling, 2008

The Trust presented a resin copy of the pug dog from Hogarth’s High Road statue to William Hogarth School in Chiswick. This was funded by a generous gift from a local donor. In 2010 someone backed their car into it and damaged it severely.

We are pleased to report that after a long negotiation with insurers, Hugh Brendon, one of our founder members, has organised a replacement statue which has now been installed in the playground.

Splendid night at the George & Devonshire!

Stephen Parissien presenting the gin tasting

The Trust’s gin-tasting event was sold out – an appreciative audience of 50 people packed into the room to hear Steven Parissien’s excellent lecture and tutored tasting.

The pub did us proud with a very traditional beef stew and trifle supper for which most of the participants stayed on after the tasting – thanks to them for being so helpful with the arrangements.

The event made a modest profit which will be put towards some of the works at Hogarth’s House.
